May 23 - a busy day

Sorry for the late post...
Tomorrow we have a special opportunity to work with a grade 5/6 class from Cook Elementary. Ms. Fourtnier's class from Cook is coming to our class to teach us 3 new apps on the ipads. They are bring their ipads and teaching us - Voice Thread, Haiku Deck and Skitch - all free apps by the way. We are in turn teaching the Cook class how to use book creator and Noteability. THe kids will be treated to a special pizza lunch and then in the afternoon Mr. Loat, our district Technology Consultant, will be coming in and teaching all 60 kids how to use the app toontastic (also free..I think). This day is part of our ongoing project this year to learn how technology - ipads - can enhance learning in the classroom. We are excited that we are able to bring these 2 groups of kids together to learn from each other.

As well - tomorrow Mr. Glen Kishi and Mr. Dean Lumb will be visiting our classroom to accept our thank you letters. Students wrote wonderful thank you letters. We are also going to share a short imovie about our trip. A busy time.

Friday - I will handing back the power points for kids to improve the projects. Content needs to be improve and overall spelling and presentation of information. We will share our power points with 3 other classes on Monday.

Reading - remember that all kids should continue reading every night for at least 20 mins - if not more. All kids are reading the three novels mentioned in the previous post.
