Thanks to everyone one who signed up for Khan Academy - I understand there were a few technical difficulties. Even if a student does not have an account they can still view the videos. I asked that all students view the video on long division last week - only a handful actually sat down and viewed it. Khan Academy is a free app for your ipad as well - on the ipad you can view all the videos.
The purpose of Khan Academy is for students to review concepts they are having trouble with or to preview a concept we will be learning in class. Long division can be challenging for some and extra practice will help reinforce the steps we learned in class.
The students worked on their Ms. Black homework on Thursday so I took it off the homework due for Tuesday.
I was in Victoria this weekend where I visited Fan Tan Alley - part of the setting from our recent novel White Jade Tiger.
