Good Morning,
Today we have really begun our first rough draft of our stories. Our stories are set in or around the Steveston Tram. This week I would like students to work on the stories at home for 30 minutes every night -
Monday
Tuesday
Wednesday
I don't expect the draft to be finished but I expect students to work on their stories. We will re-visit stories Thursday with the expectations that drafts are finished on Friday.
There is not a set length that stories have to be as each student has a different problem but I would expect the stories to be about 5 or 6 pages double spaced. We are working on describing the
- setting - with dates and details
- characters - a lot of background - students can use their notes about the Steveston Tram or looking details about the history of Steveston - 1902 - 1958.
We worked our drafts today for 1. 5 hours and some students were just able to get the beginning down. Working at home will give students a quiet time to get more ideas down on paper. Please ensure students have a quiet place to work free from "screen" distractions.
Criteria for the final story will be handed out on Friday for students.
I am looking forward to the final products - the finished stories.
Mrs. Wallace
