Today in Math we watched a video on the website Khan Academy. Khan academy is a non profit company that has thousands of videos that teach math and other skills. The videos are easy to follow and there are practice exercises to follow up.
Our class has just finished our unit on decimal numbers - grade 6. Some of the grade 6s are having a hard time with converting decimals to fractions and back again. I have encourage the grade 6s to create an account with Khan Academy and then select me as a coach so I can track their progress. My coaching id is kwallace@sd38.b.ca.
Science Jam - we started our ebooks today. The beginnings look great. Students are challenging themselves to make their books a bit different from their display boards.
